Residental Treatment Centers

When faced with the decision of placing your child in a Residential Treatment Center, we here at AABA understand what a highly stressful and emotional time this is. There are so many thoughts and questions going on. How can we possibly remember all the questions that need to be addressed when considering the many RTC’s out there?

After many hours of research I have compiled a list of RTC’s that you may consider. Please keep in mind I have only researched the very basics.

Three questions at the forefront of our minds:

  1. Do you treat Attachment Disorder?

  2. Do you accept Alaska Medicaid?

  3. If Alaska Medicaid is not available what will this cost?

All the RTC’s on the list provided have said yes they treat RAD, and yes they accept Alaska Medicaid, while also providing the daily rate. However, there are many more questions that we as parents need to address. Below you will find a link that will assist you with those questions.

Considerations for choosing an attachment therapist

And last, but certainly not least, I understand and my heart goes out to you, as I am also parenting a child with Attachment Disorder.

Good luck on your journey,

Melissa, ABBA Advisory Committee
